Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. When you leave this site, I hope you take with you the pride and joy we get from the work we do. Excellent food is just the beginning in creating memories that last a lifetime. From simple drop and go service to high-end elaborate events, I am extremely proud of each and every one of our team members who work tirelessly every day to serve you.

From a small kitchen in my home with two employees in 2005 to a 7000+ square foot facility and more than 50 full and part-time employees; you will not find a team of people more dedicated to the job they perform each day.

Our promise to deliver is backed by careful planning, attention to detail, gorgeous buffet displays and a service team that is simply the best. C&J Catering has earned its reputation as one of Central PA’s finest caterers.

In 2011 we opened restaurant services in our state’s magnificent Capitol Building in Downtown Harrisburg, we are thrilled to be bringing our excellence in food and service to the thousands of people who work at and visit the Capitol each year.

I am most excited about our partnership with the Ironstone Ranch, Central Pennsylvania’s newest unique venue for corporate and private events. Ironstone Ranch exists to support the mission of Brittany’s Hope. Brittany’s Hope is a 501(c) 3 foundation dedicated to aiding and facilitating adoptions of special needs children from around the world. All of the net operating proceeds from events at the Ironstone Ranch are donated back to Brittany’s Hope. We are proud to be partnered with an amazing group of people to create an exceptional, unique experience for each person who steps foot on this beautiful property. C&J Catering is a full-service caterer and event planner. As one of Pennsylvania’s only PA Preferred caterers, we are devoted to developing menus from locally produced goods. The culinary teams at C&J Catering combines creativity with the freshest ingredients available to satisfy any request you may have.

Our Background


C&J Catering opened its doors in January of 2005, as chef’s for hire, exposing a small group of clients to their passion for great food. In early 2006, C&J Catering moved to its first humble location in downtown Mechanicsburg. Now a single owner along with a staff of the most talented, dedicated and hardworking individuals; C&J Catering has quickly become the talk of the town with a vast array of corporate, private and public clientele. In early 2010, C&J Catering moved its operation to a state-of-the-art facility of over 7000 square feet located in Harrisburg, PA.

And while the business has grown, our fundamental philosophy has not changed. We are committed to providing excellent food and first-rate service while having flexibility in menu planning and execution that is comparable to none. Culinary Expertise


Our executive chef, Matthew Miller is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Matthew came to C&J Catering to fill the chef de cuisine roll in early 2008. Prior to coming on board with our team, Chef Miller worked in both the corporate food service and private restaurant industrie and was the executive chef for a fortune 500 company in Washington DC. Chef Miller is the leader of our culinary team which consists of four sous chefs, two chefs de partie, two pantry chefs and two pastry chefs. In addition to the chef team, C&J Catering has eight additional kitchen assistants that service our full time catering operation and corporate dining restaurant. C&J Catering makes every single menu item for both operations from scratch with local ingredients—preparing more than 10,000 meals each week. In addition, we have a 24 hour daily baking operation that prepares all of our desserts, cakes, pies and breakfast pastries.

Each year our culinary teams attend mandatory educational culinary experiences throughout the country to learn the latest trends, techniques and ideas. As a member of many culinary trade organizations we are at the forefront of the industry, setting the trends. Our teams excel in presenting classic foods with an upscale twist.


Mobile Cooking Units


C&J Catering is fully equipped to handle any event, of any size. In addition to its corporate commissary and restaurant, C&J Catering also has a full mobile equipment trailer complete with ovens, fryers, grills, crescor cabinets a freezer and a refrigerated truck. We are able to fully support ourselves in culinary preparation, proper hot and cold holding and service ensuring that every client, no matter where the location, receives the same, fresh from the oven experience. Our mobility has afforded many clients the peace of mind in not having to worry about accommodations for its catering vendor, allowing them to focus their time and money in creating the ultimate event experience for the guest.


Presentation & Design


What makes C&J Catering unique is our ability to draw in the customer before they have had their first bite with our amazing buffet presentation and space designs. We think outside the box when it comes to plating, presentation and displays. Customized menus, menu cards and displays are a C&J specialty.




Proprietor of C&J Catering located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Berger started the Company in January 2005, from her home. Under Berger’s direction, C&J Catering holds numerous exclusive Contracts in Central Pennsylvania including catering services for the Dixon University Center; Pennsylvania Game Commission; as well as over 500 other corporate clients in the Central Pennsylvania Area. In addition, they have a very large wedding, picnic & private party division. C&J Catering caters an average of 20 events per day on weekdays, in addition to several large parties, weddings and private events on weekends.

Berger also led C&J Catering in the successful opening of the Restaurant services at the Capitol Restaurant in our State’s magnificent Capitol Building in the East Wing Rotunda. This restaurant location serves more than 1000 people per day.

C&J Catering now employs more than 40 full-time and 25 part-time employees at C&J Catering, a company less than eight years old. Berger’s vision is what has driven the overwhelming success of C&J Catering. From less than $75,000 in sales in 2005 to more than $3.6 Million in 2013; her ideas and forward thinking will shape the future of the catering, event planning and service industries.
