Jan & Henry
Bride & Groom: Henry & Jan Duhamel
Wedding Date: August 29, 2009
Location: Kings Gap Mansion, Kings Gap State Park
Theme: French Country
Jan and Henry really wanted to focus on bringing a French Provencale feel to every aspect of their wedding at the Kings Gap State Park mansion. Jan brought so many wonderful ideas to the table for their nuptials and reception, and the venue really provided a stunning backdrop for all of it to transpire. Every detail, from the fruitwood chiavari chairs and mercury glass votives to the French Country ceramic pitchers and Irish linens, was so important to the authentic feel of attending a wedding in the South of France. Mossy clay floral pots were used to display the vintage-looking, white and sage color palette table centerpieces, which included beautiful white hydrangea, Scabiosa, Queen Anne’s lace, Fair Bianca garden roses and Ranunculus. Matt Miller, C&J’s Executive Chef, did a stellar job of creating a wonderful menu of grilled beef loin over couscous & roasted chipotle corn sauce, sliced chicken rolls with fresh mozzarella & basil and grilled citrus asparagus, all of which was served family style. The wedding party concluded the evening outside on the stone patio under globe lights and stars while dancing to an incredible live band. It was a delight to have worked so closely with Jan and Henry to bring their dream of a French Country wedding to Central Pennsylvania.
